Position Title: Coordinator (Part-time)
Position Accountable To: Associate Dean
GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position serves as an advisor for students who major in education and health science related programs. This position also assists with recruitment and marketing of CMU, in general. This position is part time, and is not benefit eligible.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meets with education students including potential, incoming, and current CMU students to discuss degree plan requirements, division of education requirements, student teaching requirements, and DESE/school district requirements.
- Provides guidance and advising for education students in early childhood education, elementary education, middle-school education, secondary, special education, and child development. Provides guidance for additional majors/programs.
- Meets with health sciences students including potential, incoming, and current CMU students to discuss degree plan requirements.
- Provides guidance and advising for health science majors, and additional majors/programs.
- Advises and communicates necessary information towards successful completion of a degree plan and graduation. Provides or forwards appropriate academic and student services information to advisees, instructors, staff, and partners related to CMU’s programs.
- Works closely with the regional coordinator(s), dean, associate dean, division instructors to ensure communication, planning, and programming for students in their majors.
- Attends and participates in necessary education division meetings, training, or workshops.
- Attends and participates in necessary state, regional, or site meetings (in-person or virtually).
- Conducts regular office hours at times determined by administration.
- Assists in the process to qualify, recommend and place assigned students into to student teaching assignments. Plus, communicates and coordinates student teaching placements with CMU education division, school districts, student teaching supervisor, co-op teachers, and student teachers.
- Assists with site/region recruitment, enrollment management and student registration.
- Assists with site/region marketing and promotion of all CMU programs and services.
- Assists with community college and community partnerships marketing and promotion in coordination with CMU programs and services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Driver’s License/Ability to drive.
This position will be located in Clinton, Missouri with some remote work allowed.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
MS Office-Excel, Word, and Outlook skills. Database system skills.
OTHER INFORMATION AND ATTRIBUTES:
Occasional travel to visit schools in the area.
Occasional travel to meetings in the region and state.
